Sustainability

The process
is simple and natural.

Grapes from the earth are turned into wine, waste from wine and agro-food supply chains is reused, and new organic material returns to the vineyards. This model exemplifies the circular economy. Sustainability values guide every action of the Caviro Group, showing a strong and measurable commitment. Over 99% of waste is reused within our virtuous circle.

CAVIRO’S 3 “Rs”

Our achievements motivate us to continue investing in the circular economy, knowing that nothing is destroyed and everything is transformed.

RECOVER

Caviro’s journey begins in the vineyard where our member wineries grow grapes and turn them into wine. The leftovers from winemaking, along with waste from the agro-food chain and clippings from public green spaces, are treated together. Hundreds of thousands of tonnes of waste are turned into new raw material.

REGENERATE

We give waste a new lease on life by converting it into high-value products, using packaging with a high percentage of recycled materials, and sending over 99% of waste for recovery. This is our regenerative business model.

RETURN

Each year, we package 175 million litres of wine that reach Italian families and people in 80 countries worldwide. The waste from our processing not only creates high-value products but also provides heat, electricity, and natural fertilisers.

JOURNEY

Vineyard

37,500 hectares planted with vines. 7 Italian regions. We have a wealth of unique terrains with different exposures, climates, and cultivation methods. Each vineyard tells a different story and reaches its full potential. Everything from the earth is valued in our virtuous circle, from the grapes to the pruning residue.
