Caviro Group won the European Award for Cooperative Innovation, a prestigious recognition granted to those cooperatives that stand out for their innovative and virtuous projects.
The award is held every four years and this 5th edition – that took place in Brussels on April 27th – included more than 100 cooperatives from several EU countries. It was organized by Copa-Cogeca, the group that represents the united voice of farmers and agri-cooperatives in the EU.
Due to its “outstanding innovation”, Caviro Group was ranked among the three winners of the category “Bioeconomy & Circularity”.
The project submitted by Caviro highlighted the major developments our Group has achieved in terms of sustainability and circularity, namely:
- A facility for the collection and purification of wastewater resulting from production processes (Caviro SCA in Forlì)
- A production plant converting biogas into advanced biomethane for automotive use (Caviro Extra in Faenza)
- A recovery and valorization plant purifying the CO2 generated from biomethane processing (Caviro Extra – Enomondo in Faenza)
The award was presented to Lorenzo Valtieri – Plant Manager of Enomondo – by Herbert Dorfmann, member of the European Parliament’s Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development (COMAGRI).
